Blessed by the legacy of music from his father Pt. Dhundiraj Marathe, Pramod has been into this profession for more than two decades. After attaining primary lessone from his father, he further flourished his art under the brilliant guidance of Shri. Dilip Gosavi and Pt. Manohar Chimote.

Has been a known accompanist eversince. Has accompanied renowned artists like Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Pt. Jitendra Abisheki, Gangubai Hangal, Dr. Prabha Atre, Ms. Malini Rajurkar, Pt.Rajan & Sajan Mishra, Pt. Prabhakar Karekar, Dr. Veena Sahasrabudhe, Ustad Rashid Khan, Ms. Aarti Aanklikar, Shri. Sanjeev Abhyankar and Pt.C.R.Vyas.
He has been appreciated and patted for his excellent accompaniment by maestros like Pt.Yashwantbuwa Joshi, Pt.Balasaheb Poonchwale, Pt.K.G.Ginde and Pt.Dinkar Kaikinee. His adaptive style has been applauded not only by the pandits and the general lovers of classical music but also by critics and scholars in this field.
Has had the opportunity to accompany at almost all music concerts in India. To name a few: Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Samaroha and Vivid Smruti Sangeet Samoroha (Pune), Chaturang and Gunidas Sangeet Samaroha (Mumbai), Bharat Bhavan (Bhopal), Saptak Mehfil (Nagpur), Indian Music Academy (Madras), Bhatkhande College (Lucknow), Vishnu Digambar Jayanti Samaroha & Shankarlal Samaroha (New Delhi), Tansen Samaroha (Gwalior). In 1992 he was specially invited by Hon. President R. Venkatraman for a 3 days – Bhajan concert in Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
Participation in various national telecasts on AIR and TV channels including DD and ETV.
More than 100 audio cassettes of established music companies like HMV, T-Series, Rhythm house, Venus, Alurkar and Fountain have him as an accompanist to more than 50 eminent artists.
Notable accompaniments abroad have been with renowned artists like Dr. Veena Sahasrabudhe, Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Ms. Padma Talwalkar, Dr. Prabha Atre, Ms. Sangeeta Mate Pt.Sanjeev Abhyankar and Pt.Ajay Pohankar. Has traveled to Australia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, UK, Muscat, Bahrain, Singapore, Hong Kong, France, Scotland, Switzerland & US along with them.
Is presently the Principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune and has been associated with this historical institute since 1982. Apart from being a harmonium guru, he is into organizing programs and concerts of classical music.
His pioneering efforts have “Sanskriti” a joint venture with Southern command Army Wives Welfare Association, to the institute’s credit. Vocal Music, Harmonium, Tabla and Bharat Natyam is taught to children and wives of soldiers.
A dedicated and gifted composer who has creatively contributed through more than 50 compositions in different ragas and talas.
In the year 2007, he had organized a Harmonium Concert of artists from all over India.
Also responsibly handles the chair of Principal of Saraswati Sangeet Vidyalaya, Baramati on special invitation of Hon. Shri. Sharad Pawar, Cabinet Minister, India.
He has penned books on learning harmonium and has also designed cassettes and CDs for the same.
He is recognized mentor and guide for UG and PG students of University of Pune.
