Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in it's endeavor to provide good Hindustani Classical education has planned a number of projects for the coming years. Here below we present them.
Gandharva Mahavidyalaya , is associated
in presenting an Educational CD-ROM titled
Workshop for teachers from rural areas: There are many teachers engaged in profession of teaching Hindustani classical music all over India. Especially, in rural areas these teachers are facing many problems like - Adapting standard methods for teaching, shortage of teaching material, repairing and maintaining musical instruments etc. Gandharva Mahavidyalaya feels that, good students are created by good teachers. Vidyalaya had conducted workshops for the Musical Teachers from rural area. The first workshop was held from 24th May, 2000 to 28th May 2000 for 25 teachers from rural area all around Maharashtra State, India. The teachers were having minimum 5 years Hindustani music teaching experience. Vidyalaya not only provided Free-Learning but also provided free stay and free food to these teachers. Vidyalaya plans to conduct the workshops for minimum 100 teachers every year. The next workshop is scheduled soon. Free education program for the children: This programme is conducted in association with Kirloskar Foundation, Pune and D G Marathe Pratishthan, Pune. D G Marathe Pratishthan is a trust formed in the memory of Dhondumama Marathe, who was principal of Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune for about 36 years. (1957-1993). In the programme education in Hindustani vocal, tabla and harmonium is conducted for the boys or girls in 4th or 5th or 6th academic standards. The syllabus up to 'Praveshika Purna' examination is completed. The education is totally free of cost. Most of the students in this programme are from economically backward group. At the begining the student strength under this project
was 50. From August 2000, the total strength was increased to
100. Thirty students completed the 03 course viz. Praveshika Purna and passed the examination for the same in July 2002. The first five ranked students have been given the sponsorship by Vidyalaya for the further education in music upto the 07 course viz. Visharad Purna. Other Projects: Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Pune and
"Sanskriti" ( Programmed titled & conducted by AWWA - Army Wives
Welfare Association ), together conducts one programme for education in
Hindustani Classical Music. |
